Troubleshooting
Work through the section that matches your symptom. Most issues come down to one of three things: the server is locked, the bot is missing a Discord permission, or the tracker simply hasn’t collected the data yet.
The bot isn’t responding
Section titled “The bot isn’t responding”Slash commands don't appear when I type /
- Make sure ClashDuke is actually in the server — re-invite from the invite link if not.
- Commands are registered per app; give Discord a minute after inviting, then fully reload your client (Ctrl+R on desktop).
- The bot needs the
applications.commandsscope, which the invite link includes. If you added the bot with a custom link that omitted it, re-invite.
I run a command and nothing happens / it says the app didn't respond
- The bot may be offline or restarting — check the status page and try again shortly.
- Confirm the bot can see and send messages in the channel you’re using (see permissions below).
- If only some commands fail, it’s usually a missing permission on that feature, not the whole bot — read the ephemeral error message it returns.
Commands answer with a 'subscribe' / locked prompt
The server has no active plan or trial and is locked. Open the Billing page and start a free trial or activate a plan. See Plans & trials.
Missing permissions
Section titled “Missing permissions”There are two kinds of permission in play. Check both.
Discord permissions (what the bot can do)
ClashDuke needs Discord-level permissions in your server to post and manage things. If feeds, boards, or role automation aren’t working, verify the bot’s role can:
- View Channel, Send Messages, and Embed Links in every channel it posts to (log feeds, boards, reminders, tickets).
- Manage Roles for auto-roles, family roles, and verified roles — and its own role must sit above the roles it assigns in the server’s role list.
- Manage Channels for ticket panels that open channels.
A role/channel picker that renders empty in the dashboard usually means the bot is offline or can’t read that server’s roles/channels right now.
ClashDuke permissions (what a staff member can do)
Dashboard pages and some commands are gated by ClashDuke’s own permission keys. A page or command that says “No access — you need the X permission” means your staff role is missing that key. A server owner can grant it on the Roles & permissions page. Remember: a role can only grant permissions its creator holds, and only rank below its creator. See Permissions.
Feeds & boards aren’t posting
Section titled “Feeds & boards aren’t posting”On the Log feeds (or Auto-boards) page, check the feed exists for the
right clan and is toggled on, pointing at the intended channel. Feeds can
also be wired with /setup log.
The bot must have View Channel, Send Messages, and Embed Links in the target channel. A feed silently fails if the bot can’t post there.
Feeds only fire on real events. A quiet clan (no joins, donations, or role changes) produces no feed messages — that’s expected. War and capital feeds need an active war / raid weekend.
A freshly linked clan has no baseline yet, so the first events take a short while to register. See why data is empty at first.
Dashboard problems
Section titled “Dashboard problems”'This server is locked'
No active plan or trial. Start one from Billing. See Plans & trials.
No servers show on 'Claim your server'
ClashDuke reads your manageable servers from Discord at sign-in. Sign out and back in with Discord to refresh the list. You need Manage Server on the Discord server to claim it.
I picked a server but see no data
Confirm the server switcher in the header shows the right server, and that it
has linked clans (Clans page → /setup clan). Analytics pages also depend on
warmed-up tracked data.
Can't sign in with a sub-account
Use the server sub-account panel on the login page with the exact Server ID, username, and password. If it was just created you may be prompted to set a new password. Locked out? Ask an admin to reset it from the Credential accounts page, or use Forgot password?.
Empty or “not tracked” data
Section titled “Empty or “not tracked” data”Dashboard search says a player/clan is 'not tracked'
The dashboard search returns data only for entities ClashDuke tracks. A “not tracked” result means nobody has linked that clan yet — it is not an outage. Players start being tracked once they’re in a clan the bot follows. Link the clan to start tracking it.
